This restaurant located inside a historic landmark offers excellent, Southern country food in a family-style format. Don't let some of the ordering and service policies throw you off a great gem. For a table, all get chicken, but you have to agree on the second protein option (often ham, BBQ pork, and beef options). The chicken was fantastic and fresh. The BBQ pork didn't taste smoked, but it was well-seasoned. I wasn't thrilled with the sauces by themselves, but they complemented the BBQ perfectly when paired (like it just unlocked more depth of flavors). Should you get tea, coffee or lemonade, they're bottomless AND you can switch among them for no extra charge.
Great place to sit down and have a nice diner with friends and family. Love the atmosphere of the dining area, and the staff is very friendly - Quick with refills of food or drinks.
We love this place! Found a Yelp review a few years ago and took the kids back 3 years later. Family style dinning with fried chicken, Mac n cheese, biscuits, cornbread, mashed potatoes, gravy, collard greens, green beans. Doesn't include drinks or dessert. $15.99 per person. Only downside was there wasn't alot of options for my vegetarian husband and we still paid full price.
Love the family style dinning and the yummy comfort food! The atmosphere makes it the perfect place to bring the family together as you eat some of the best fried chicken around!!! Pass the dishes around the table reminds me of when I was younger and my entire family would gather around my Grandmother's table, eating and having a good old time.The history of the build is just an added bonus!!!
Food was out of this world. Some of the best home cooking I've had in a long time. Fried chicken so good you'll slap yo momma.
The service was solid given the crowd, but it seemed a bit hit-or-miss at times. They're good about keeping you supplied with food. You can take extra food home for $1 per container (a very good deal and unheard of with other family-style options).
